I have been involved in developing initiatives and strategies to improve outcomes for whānau in crisis and develop support networks to strengthen families. From helping those in need to navigate the available help and find their feet, to working with whānau on the cusp of Oranga Tamariki interventions, to safeguard relationships and deescalate crises – I have experienced every up and down imaginable leading me to build and cultivate resilience and mindfulness in my own practice.
I am a Registered Social Worker (SWRB, 7490) and a member of Aoteraroa New Zealand Association of Social Workers (ANZASW). I hold a Diploma in Child Psychology from Kilroy's College in Ireland, a Bachelor of Applied Social Services from NorthTec, Whangārei, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Professional Supervision from Auckland University.I currently divide my time between ACC social work, gardening and providing supervision. Naturally, I myself am also professionally supervised, which has served to enrich my understanding of the process and to support me to be the best practitioner I can be.
